Reusi Dat Ton
ฤาษีดัดตน
Level 1
With Damion Bond
I am delighted to be hosting Damion Bond to teach a very special in-depth course in the art and practice of Reusi Dat Ton. Damion has been studying this beautiful system of self care in accordance with tradition and with a and focus and comes to us with decades of experience in instruction in movement arts; all of which make her uniquely qualified to teach this incredible class.
This eight week long interactive distance learning course provides an introduction to Reusi Dat Ton, the Thai practice of breath, health, and longevity. The purpose of Reusi Dat Ton is to move and stabilize the winds of the body: circulation, digestion, respiration, mobilization, and mental processing. We will present a system in its whole practice form, which includes traditional offerings, Pāli chanting, breathing techniques, face massage, joint mobilization, and thirty-one Reusi Dat Ton postures.
The structure of this course will establish students’ connection to a practicing teacher who will continue to provide support and assistance after the class concludes, as well as offering community and continued levels of learning.
Dates: October 5th, 2020 through November 30th, 2020
CEs: 40 *
Tuition: $600 ($300 for students who have taken Somanānda Yogi’s Reusi Dat Ton level 1 retreat). Register with $100; remainder due by November 30th.
Course Structure
This course has five component parts:
• Weekly video lessons filled with information covering the mental and physical approaches to the practice with a clarity on tradition, alignment, breathing, and balance, and suggestions for modifications surrounding alignment.
• Weekly live class meetings during which we will review the information from the video, answer questions, and dive even deeper into the practice.
• Home study. Videos will be released one week prior to the live class meetings, offering students ample time to practice and review on their own. As Reusi Dat Ton is a method which is predominantly practiced solitarily, students will develop the inspiration and motivation for continued daily routine once the class has been completed.
• Individual video progress reports. Once the bulk of the course is underway students will submit a video of their practice to show progress and alignment in postures, allowing for individual guidance from their teacher outside of the group sessions.
• Community. Students will be able to interact with their instructor and their peers in the class via a messaging platform that brings everyone together to form a vibrant supportive community.
Schedule
October 5th - November 30th
• Video lessons will be released on Mondays beginning on October 5th, with the last video lesson being released on November 23rd.
