Internships and Auditing
There is a tradition in Thailand that says that once someone is your student, they are always your student. I honor this tradition at The Naga Center by maintaining relationships with my students for as long as they care to stay connected. I have large ongoing chat groups with all previous students who wish to be in them, and I answer questions and provide ongoing space for learning. Any student who has taken my Thai Medical Theory course is invited to join in on weekly wai kru Zoom sessions in which we chant together and then spend an hour learning something about Thai culture and having Thai medicine open Q&A.
Students are also invited to repeat any class they have already taken, as auditing interns, for only the cost of a donation of $100 to an environmental organization of their choosing; space allowing. Because my intensive courses present a vast amount of information, I have found that students benefit from the opportunity to come back and experience the class again, absorbing the lessons on a deeper level and solidifying their connection to the work.
While internships do provide students with additional classroom hours that count toward many state’s licensure renewal requirements, the primary purpose of the internships should be to further your understanding of the lessons presented.
Online classes may be repeated as an auditing student, in which case quizzes and final exams are not taken.
Interns may be expected to arrive early and stay a bit late each day to assist with set up and clean up with in-person workshops.
Students auditing online classes are expected to fully participate in the online forum and may be given extra tasks.
A list of good potential organizations working to protect our mama earth to give to will be provided.
Please note that because auditing/interning a class is subject to space availability you might not know until fairly last minute if you will be able to join.
This is for individual classes, not entire programs. If you have completed the Professional or Specialist program, you can potentially repeat individual courses within those programs.
