Ethics and Communication for Healing Arts From Buddhism and Traditional Medicine ~ Mini Workshop

In this half day workshop we will explore ethics for the healing arts as taught through the lens of Thai medicine and Buddhism.  This workshop is rooted in kindness and ancient wisdom and provides truly applicable useful tools for navigating therapist/client relations that can really be applied to all interpersonal relations.  This course meets Oregon continuing education ethics hours requirements. Topics we will cover include but are not limited to:

  • Buddhist teachings as ethical guides for healing arts practitioners
     

  • Traditional rules for traditional medicine practitioners and the Hippocratic oath.
     

  • Buddha dharma and parables as tools for communication with healing arts patients/clients. 
     

  • Harmonious communication tools and the overlap of non-violent communication and Buddhist principals. 
     

  • The brahmaviharas for healing arts practitioners

  • Cultural appropriation and erasure in healing arts
