Internships
Our internship program is based on the traditional method of teaching in Thailand. Students completing our courses are invited to participate as assistants in future courses in order to accumulate up to 100 hours of instruction and supervised practice. This is useful for students wishing to qualify for liability insurance or membership in particular organizations, however, it is also a great way to get more practice time, and to review the course materials again and again free of charge!
We have found that our intensive courses present a ton of information, and that it takes students weeks or months to internalize and to familiarize themselves with all of the steps covered in class. We like for students to gain 30+ hours of practice on their own after each course before applying this new knowledge to the professional setting. One way to gain this hands-on experience is through the internship program. The internship is a great opportunity to gain a more in-depth experience and to deepen learning of Thai massage. Participating in the class for a second time as an intern gives the student the opportunity to hear everything again, and catch things they may have missed the first time around. Also, it gives the opportunity to work one on one with new students, aiding them with their learning process, which in turn helps to crystallize important concepts for the intern as well. (Please note that repetition of a class is not recognized by NCBTMB as continuing ed hours for CMTs and LMTs however, it is recognized by some states including Oregon as hours that count toward state licensure renewal.)*
Internships are available to all Naga Center students as well as students coming from other Tao Mountain Association schools and teachers. Please note that spaces are limited and participation is subject to availability.

Scholarships and Work Exchanges
Because it is our firm belief that knowledge should not be cost prohibitive, we offer limited scholarships and work exchange options. These options are contingent upon space availability and bookkeeping approval to students approved by the class teacher and Naga Center Director. Students seeking any form of financial aid must demonstrate a serious interest and commitment to Thai massage as well as a financial need.
Potential students wishing to apply for financial aid in the form of scholarships and work exchanges must complete an application process that includes:
An essay that demonstrates a serious interest and commitment to Thai massage
Previous years financial records
An interview with a Naga Center teacher
Potential students seeking financial aid must be able to show that they have received a Thai massage within the last year
All applications acceptance based on space availability, bookkeeper, teacher and Naga Center Director approval and may be rejected at Naga Center discretion.
Contact The Naga Center for more information and an application packet.
