A traditional Thai massage school located in Portland, Oregon, The Naga Center is a unique healing center dedicated to the research, preservation and education of the three branches of traditional Thai medicine: massage, herbalism and spiritual practice. The Naga Center offers non-abbreviated, non-westernized Thai massage classes (also known as Thai yoga massage, or nuad boran) that engage students with a deep understanding of the richness of this ancient modality. Students attending classes at The Naga Center, and clients receiving treatments at our clinic, will have an experience that is steeped in Thai culture, philosophy, spirituality, theory and history.
The Naga Center upholds the highest standards of education in the field of traditional traditional Thai medicine, with a deep commitment to maintaining authenticity in the classroom. We believe that students learn best with a maximum amount of hands-on practice and enthusiastic caring instruction that accommodates for all learning styles. Following Thai tradition, we offer free internships in any class previously taken, providing the opportunity for many additional hours of education, a rarity in Thai massage schools. Following a similar tradition, all Buddhism courses are offered free of charge, or at the actual cost of supplies.
We are honored to be a member school of the Tao Mountain Association of Thai Massage Schools and Herbal Medicine and our teachers meet the highest standards in the field, having gone through the rigorous and unprecedented Tao Mountain teacher training program as well as extensive study in Thailand. The Naga Center aims to be the most comprehensive school of Thai medicine possible, offering: In- depth Thai Massage classes, rare classes such as Pre-natal Thai Massage & Barefoot Thai Massage, Thai Herbalism classes, Thai language classes, In-depth Teacher Training, Thai Buddhism classes and more. Teaching traditional Thai medicine is our love and delight; inspiring others to enjoy this healing art is our mission.
