About The Naga Center

About The Naga Center

The Naga Center is a Thai massage school that upholds and offers you the highest standards of education in the field of Traditional Thai Medicine; gifting you with a deep commitment to maintaining authenticity in the classroom.

We believe that you, our students, learn best with a maximum amount of hands-on practice, an enthusiastic and caring instructor who can accommodate for varied learning styles, and classrooms that are kept small for attentive intimate study.

Following Thai tradition, we offer free internships in any class previously taken.

Following a similar tradition found in Buddhist trainings, all Buddhism courses are offered for donation, or at the actual cost of overhead, with no one turned away for lack of funds.

Because Thai massage and Thai medicine are disciplines that one can study for a lifetime and still have more to learn, instructors at The Naga Center never stop learning.  An ongoing path of study for teachers insures a fresh excitement that is passed along to you.

We are approved providers of continuing education through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) and our teachers meet the highest standards in the field, having gone through our rigorous and unprecedented teacher training program as well as extensive study in Thailand.

The Naga Center aims to be the most comprehensive school of Thai medicine possible; teaching traditional Thai medicine is our love and delight; inspiring others to enjoy this healing art is our mission.

All bodywork related classes count as continuing education hours for massage therapists.

Ethics Based Business

The Naga Center is an ethics based business. What this means is that while most businesses have a single bottom line (finances) that guides all business decisions, we have a triple bottom line; environment, community, and yes, finances (because after all we do need to keep roofs over our heads and the doors open).

From the very beginning the idea to start The Naga Center was based on not only a love of Thai medicine, but a commitment to creating a business that walks lightly on the earth and gives back to the people.

Instruction and practice of massage uses very little natural resources; even the business end of it; and nourishes people emotionally as well as physically. In everything from choosing the materials our massage mats are made out of, to the paper we print on, we think about the impact on the environment.

To nourish our community we not only offer classes and massages, but we also have a sliding scale, work exchange options, fundraising events for charities, and community outreach events in which we bring healing bodywork to those in need.

Check our Community & Events page to find out about these events.

Charities and Non-profits We Like and Support

The environment, the animals, children around the world, people around the world; if we are truly to be a part of the healing arts we must do all we can to protect and ease suffering for all these things.

Some of the things we do to take care of our community, forests, oceans and wild things are to hold periodic fundraisers for the organizations on this page.  We will constantly be adding new organizations and information here, so check back often.

Do Good While Receiving a Massage

This month we will give $15 to charities listed below for every new client who mentions one of them, and $5 for every established client who mentions one of them at the time of their massage session.
